Greek god of the sea and rivers, creator of storms and floods, and the bringer of earthquakes and destruction. He was perhaps the most disruptive of all the ancient gods but he was not always a negative force. Being the god of the sea Poseidon was mainly worshipped by those who made the waters their home and their work. Therefore, sailors and fishermen would pray to Poseidon on a daily basis for safe travels and bountiful nets. This piece was created with layers of acrylic paint and is encased in a black frame.
